Once again the progress report is slow but steady. I think what’s happening here is the annual funk I get in around the beginning of March combined with cabin fever and the rush to finish all.the.things at work. It will pass. And until it does I keep plotting ways to escape. We have been talking about a long weekend in Vegas but the price seems to have increased significantly in 2 days time. So that has me looking to other locations… Florida? Nassau Bahamas? Mexico? I dunno, but it’s definitely cabin fever. I’ll report in later if we pick something or just wait it out like usual.
In the mean time, knitting progress is slow but steady. I finished my Bella’s Mittens this weekend and have made some nice progress on my Merlia scarf. Also finished another skein of yarn. I think that’s been my favorite thing lately spinning I mean, because I can definitely see some huge improvement in my abilities. Now I’m at the point where I’m starting to spin with projects in mind as opposed to spinning just for spinning’s sake. There is definitely a whole new level of satisfaction involved in finishing a project that’s mine from start to finish! I expect my next year of projects will involved a lot more knitting out of my own yarn…

I vote for AZ, and I bet I can find four seconds pretty easily.
Actually it was realizing that niggling feeling about the first weekend I was pricing was niggling because we have girls night on the calendar that week!
See…it’s not all bleak in March! I’ll even try and sneak some warm weather and sunshine in my suitcase.
Slow but steady is good, looking forward to seeing if you hop off for a weekend and looking forward to seeing some things from your own yarn.
That’s a really great way to look at the spinning thing. I’m a bit stuck because I’m spinning for spinning’s sake … I’m not good enough yet to spin with an end project in mind. I’d better get back to it!
We all have the February blahs around here. But the days are getting longer and the sun’s feeling warmer, so I expect we’ll feel more upbeat in the next several weeks
Have fun if you dash away somewhere!
I’d say come to the west coast, but it’s pretty grey out here right now. No snow, though
Spinning is so addictive– I’m finding it easier to not increase my commercially spun yarn stash because I love knitting with my own yarn so much. I’m not where you are, skill wise, not even close, but you’re definitely an inspiration!
Steady is good. Have fun planning a get away
I just try to sit during the february blahs…cuz with the first hint of spring..then I want start all kinds of projects and usually exhaust myself..
I think its AWESOME you are making your own yarn. I really do hope to get to that point in my abilities.
