Year of Projects 12/9/12

I think it would be accurate to call the last 7 days my week of hats. Hats hats hats.  Turns out when in the midst of a huge project at work  (the usual end of the year craziness wasn’t enough, this year I added in a computer upgrade along with it. I are not smart), hats are a great kit.  Simple, largely mindless, the calming repetitive motion activity I crave without overtaxing my brain at the end of the day… Hats are good. I have knit four of them in about 7 days time. Two were patterns queued up on my list, 2 were extras.  Three of the four will be boxed up and sent to Afghanistan at some point this week. In the middle of the hat-a-thon I even managed to mostly create my own pattern.  Hopefully this week will be calmer and I will be able to post some photos in a later post.

Progress continues on Jagged Edge and the Masonic Lodge socks. Nothing major to report, but progress is progress, right? Got lots of Christmas wrapping done this weekend as well, so all in all I’d say my holiday preparations are well in hand. Really it’s about the best any can ask for right now, right?

With that, the list

  1. wow – 30/46 completed! That’s amazing 🙂

I agree on the hats, they are such satisfying little things. I hope you have a better week next week.

  2. You’re making some serious progress on that list. Go you!

  3. I am doing has for my boys right now–and also am in the middle of huge changes at work which = stress in a big, big way. We are converting to electronic medical records—seriously who plans this stuff in the month of December??? Anyway–knitting is my release–at home and even on my lunch breaks!
*smiles and happy thoughts sent your way*

  4. I’ve been having some work and life craziness too. I suppose that’s why I’ve fallen back to socks – my comfort knitting. Looks like you’re making awesome headway with your lists. More done, than not by the looks of it 🙂

  5. Hope things calm down for you soon. It’s great that knitting has helped you to relax through a busy time x

  6. OH…do we get use your pattern? I would love to add it.. Hopefully things will calm down soon, but when I’m under a little stress, I actually get more done and functions better..and then, there’s always the CRASH!

  7. I just made a hat myself. Pretty much for the same reasons. December just always seems to be crazy at work for everyone. Hope it calms down soon for you.
