YOP 2/17/13

I’ve been a bad blogger… I really have no good excuses or explanations.  Life has been a little crazy which has left me low on energy so it came down to a choice… Work, sleep and eating aren’t really optional so the choice was blog or knit.  AS I reminded myself very quickly one night last week, knitting is truly the calming influence that allows me to find my center so when push comes to shove, knitting is going to win every time.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been nearly as much progress as I’d like to be reporting on for a 2 week break from the list.  Progress, yes, but it is modest progress.  I am not complaining, really, because modest is still progress. And there was spinning…  Quite a lot of spinning.  And since it’s all still wooly goodness passing through my hands, well, there just isn’t anything to complain about, is there?

So, now for the official progress report:

  1. Your Wrought Iron Mitts are gorgeous. A dart for better fit is a good idea … I hate baggy wrists!

  2. I love those mitts! And the hat has such a lovely patterned top to it. I have weeks where blogging and internetting takes more time than I want to give because after work, knitting is what I really crave. I sit at a computer all day at work, so when I get home? No novelty there. I get it!

  3. LOVE those mitts!!!! As for not blogging, we all hit that slump and yea – like you said, some things are not optional (like yarn duties hehe)

  4. I would so knit those mitts!!!! And yes, I so get the blogging slump. I am slowly coming out of the haze and back into the world of writing.

    • Careful what you say… If I do write up the pattern I may need a couple of test knitters to tell me if they make sense outside of my own head!

    • You are brave… very very brave. But first I need to finish putting it to paper (got the cable chart drafted and a good start on the short form instructions) and knit them again myself to test the new cable pattern and we’ll go from there.

  5. Those two F/O’s seems to me like you’ve accomplished alot! they are wonderful…knitting is a stress reliever for me..not exactly calming…but a wonderful distraction…

  6. Progress is progress no matter how big or small and your list is looking great but I’m afraid I’m with the others and those mitts totally steal the show ! Gorgeous and I’d certianly knit them up.
