YOP 4/21/13

So, WOW.  It’s kinda been a while since I updated my progress, let alone my blog!  My excuse the first weekend of April was being too busy soaking up sun that produced actual warmth in Fabulous Lost Wages Las Vegas.  The thinly veiled excuse was a quick anniversary get away (we celebrated our 13th on April 1st) but the reality was a desperate need for sun.  Wisconsin has been in short supply lately, especially the variety that produces actual heat.  The trip was made even more fun by the fact that one of my best friends (I’m a lucky girl, I have 2! This one’s the sister I never had) and her hubby met us out there for part of the weekend. There was far too much sun, fun and booze to be had to bother blogging- I’m sure you understand.

Last weekend, though. I really have no excuse for that one. Sometimes lazy wins. Or maybe it will sound better if I put it a different way… I was too busy knitting to stop and update my project list! Yes. That sounds much better! And it’s not entirely untrue!  Work has been nuts lately, too, which has left me little attention span at the end of the day so I’ve chosen to use what’s left to further progress on the list than to spend more time on the computer. This may continue to hold for a while or it may not. Time will tell.

As for the knitting, progress is slow but steady on Ink.  The raglan increases seemed to take years instead of a couple of weeks but they are finally done and I’ve separated the sleeve stitches onto holders for the time being.  Ravelry Red Malabrigo Sock was an excellent choice for this sweater. The color is rich enough to be interesting but still show off the cables very nicely and, as always, the yarn is a joy to knit with.  I was hoping I could get most of the way through it in April and I’m not sure that’s going to happen but I’m enjoying the knit so I’m just going with it right now.

The only other thing on my needles right now is the vanilla sock. I’m working the gusset so it might actually be a whole sock by the end of the week. Or, since I’m only working on it at lunch, it might not. Either way, it’s something to knit and that’s really all I need in the world!

So anyway, the list as it stands today:

  1. You know sometimes lazy does win and as you say when your busy and limited on time it’s nice to spend that spare time knitting, I find I come on to blog and several hours later I’ve bummed around on the computer and gotten no knitting done ! Looking forward to seeing Ink, sounds lovely in the red and the Vanilla socks.

  2. I think your month sounds well-spent 🙂

  3. Wow – that is some project list!!

  4. fun, sun, and booze…I wouldn’t be blogging either.. PWI (posting while intoxicated) can lead to some embarrassment..well, at least for me!
