YOP 5/12/13

So, once again, little to report! On the needles remains Ink.  I am actually making progress. Since the last update I’ve finished the body and the first sleeve. Today I started on the 2nd sleeve and I’m hoping it goes a bit quicker than the first.  With luck work will remain a bit less crazy so I can stay awake and focused at the end of the day which can only help.  I’d like to be reporting by next Sunday that the sweater is finished and blocking…  But I don’t know that I’d put money on it…

Also, for the 2nd or 3rd update in a row, there’s nothing new to add to the list.  If you remember back to the beginning of my YOP entrance, this is very unusual!  And of course isn’t completely truthful either. Because there is this little shawl that made its way onto the needles. But then it got frogged.  Lace and I are adversaries to say the least. But I really like the shawl. So I cast it on again. And I frogged it again. Lace…  You taunt me so! I do believe it will make it back on the needles for a fourth time (Oh, did I not mention the third attempt? Which was actually the first attempt? My Bad.)   It may hit the needles for one more attempt as a project for the House Cup. But I’m still deciding.

If I have to make predictions on the list’s completion by the end of June, I’ll be honest and say the socks have stalled out but still, +8 on the year isn’t a bad place to be.  The sweater list, well, Ink will be finished! And Camden Place made it through to the finish line, too. Not bad 2 out of 4 really, at least when considering what else has happened! The rest of the list has been dealt with quite handily. Especially considering how much it’s grown!  So I’m happy! And I’m plotting for my 2nd year. Now… Off to knit. The sleeve is calling.

So anyway, the list as it stands today:

  1. uhm..yes.. I have a love hate relationship with lace..I always have to try a pattern every now and then to remember how much hate I have for it..like you I always end up frogging multiple times before I either grasp it or I move on..

  2. Hoping you get the sweater done by next Sunday or blocking anyway, am sure you can do it. I have to say I love lace but I can see how others would dislike it. I really dislike knitting with anything thicker than a dk weight yarn, I’ll stretch to an aran weight, funny that isn’t it lol. I think your doing really great with your list and 8+socks is a great achievement. I’ve a few things that won’t get complete on my list this year again and well they won’t get done because somewhere along the line I’ve changed my mind really about them.

  3. I think you’re making great progress. I too have a love/hate relationship with lace; sometimes I can trick myself into thinking it’s not lace, and then it’s fine, but anything too fiddly and all bets are off.
